Levy, MD, the first vitreoretinal trained ophthalmologist in Southeastern Massachusetts, joined in 1987. We have kept growing to meet the community’s need for exceptional eye care.

Premium IOL Options

Reduce your dependence on glasses.

At the Center for Eye Health you can choose between standard and premium IOLs. A premium IOL (intraocular lens) helps patients see clearly at all distances — near, far and intermediate — after cataract surgery.

Premium IOLs can address both presbyopia and astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery and provide a continuous range of vision, which may reduce your dependence on glasses.

Optical shop FAQ

Most people need a comprehensive eye exam to get the best possible vision. The doctor checks many aspects of your vision, including acuity, and evaluates your eyes to find the cause of any change — a refractive error such as nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism, or an underlying condition such as cataracts. For your prescription, the doctor performs a refraction test, using a phoropter to place different lens strengths in front of your eyes to see which gives the clearest vision.

The lens you choose is just as important as the frame, if not more so. Our optical team will help you find the lens best suited to your vision needs and lifestyle, then discuss any special treatments you may want, such as anti-glare or a blue-light filter.

Our optical team can help you choose from hundreds of frame styles to fit your face shape and nose bridge. Stop by either office during business hours.

Reviews

See what our patients say.

Dr. Beade removed cataracts from both of my eyes and installed a pair of lenses that allow me to see both far and near without the need of glasses. The techs and office personnel are top notch too. The post op follow ups care is also excellent.

I’ve been going here for 6 years. Dr. Johnnie Tang is wonderful. Staff are friendly. The office keeps pretty much to the appointment schedule. I would recommend them for all eye care.
